FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be a coat check?

Yes, we’ll have a coat check upstairs, $2. If you have reserved seating, or get their early enough to secure a seat, you can put your coat on your chair.

Do I have to dress up?

No, wear what you want. Of course, if you want to dress up, you won’t feel out of place. See What to Wear for suggestions of Mardi Gras themed attire.

Is this a sit-down formal thing?

While we do have seating, it’s a casual evening with food and entertainment. Think of it as a really big house party.

Will there be seating available?

Yes, there are two categories of seating. We have reserved seating at tables near the action for those who order it online (in advance) in the ticket section. In addition to this, there will be seating and tables upstairs. The Olympic Hall is not a large venue, so we unfortunately can’t make enough table and chair space for everyone. If you want to secure a spot to sit, either reserve a seat online, or get there early enough to claim one.

Will you have cash or drink-ticket bars?

Both. Tickets can speed up bar service by keeping bartenders focused on making drinks, and by removing any fumbling for correct change, but we realize that some people don’t like the extra step.

We will run only drink-ticket bars downstairs where space can be tight, and one of our upstairs bars will accept tickets or cash, giving you the option to avoid tickets if you like.

Do you allow re-entry?

We hand out wrist-bands, so you can come and go as you please once you’ve checked in.

Is there parking at the Olympic Hall?

Yes, not much, but it is available. There is also street parking available. Of course we recommend taking public transit, or riding with a designated driver so everyone stays safe and has an enjoyable night.

Will you take credit cards / debit?

We suggest our guests bring cash, keeping plastic as a backup. While we do have one ATM/Credit Card machine, it’s not enough for everyone. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to setup credit card services for a one night event.

Is this only oldies music?

No. We start off with Swing/Jazz, and progress into R&B and funkier tunes as the night goes on. The main band is a talented cover band, and between them and the recorded music, you should hear just about everything you need to have a good time.

What food options do you offer people with dietary restrictions?

Southern Food doesn’t lend itself to restrictions very well, but we are trying to make it work. We have Gluten Free, and Vegan options to try and make sure everyone can enjoy something. We are also trying to get a low-gluten draft beer, and expect to have a few gluten-free bottled beers available as well. See Drink and Food Menu for more information.

Will there be dance lessons?

No. Relax and don’t worry about – just let the music move your body.
